Applying Blogging to My Work

Yes, I've done it -- I now edit a blog at work! It just launched yesterday so there's not much on it yet, but check it out. It's called the Researchers Notebook.

It's designed to be a forum rather than the postings of a single person. At the beginning the forum will be for the members of the Minensota Historical Society's monthly researchers meetings, but will eventually be opened up for anyone to join. So, if you're not a member of one of the monthly researcher meetings, you just got a leg-up on everyone else in knowing the URL and being able to bookmark it and/or register.

The MHS blogs have all just been moved to WordPress software and were set up by our IT department. WordPress seems quite similar to Blogger but may be a little bit more complicated, with a few more bells and whistles. Fortunately I've got an IT department who can help me out if I run into problems.

So, 23 Things on a Stick has already borne fruit!
